Yogyakarta is estimated to have recorded the highest growth rate in used home prices among several major cities in Indonesia in April 2022.

According to a report by 99 Group, a company that manages a property sales website, the resale price index for used homes in Yogyakarta increased by 8.6% (yoy) in April 2022 compared to the previous year.

An upward trend in used home prices was also observed in 11 other major cities monitored by 99 Group, with varying growth rates as shown in the graph. In this report, a decrease in the price index only occurred in Denpasar.

“Strategic policies implemented by the government until 2022 have significantly contributed to boosting the property market. We hope that consumers and property businesses can make the most of this momentum,” said Wasudewan, CEO of 99 Group Indonesia, in a press release on Tuesday (24/5/2022).

The government implemented an incentive policy for Value Added Tax Borne by the Government (PPN DTP) for the property sector until September 2022.

With this policy, buyers of houses priced below Rp2 billion are charged 50% PPN, while buyers of houses priced between Rp2 billion and Rp5 billion are charged 75% PPN.
