According to the latest survey by Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas), the electability of Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto is neck and neck as prospective presidential candidates (capres). Anies Baswedan is in third place.
In an open simulation, where respondents could name anyone they considered suitable to be president, Ganjar's electability reached 24.9%, Prabowo's 24.6%, and Anies's 12.7%.
"Two months before the registration for the 2024 Presidential Election, the *Kompas* survey shows Ganjar and Prabowo are in a tight race at the top of electability. Anies's support has not seen any significant change," said the Litbang Kompas team, as reported by *Kompas.id* on Monday (August 21, 2023).
Registration for presidential and vice-presidential candidates at the General Election Commission (KPU) will open from October 19 to November 25, 2023.
On the other hand, several figures such as Ridwan Kamil, Agus Yudhoyono, Mahfud MD, Erick Thohir, and Puan Maharani have significantly lower electability than the three figures above, as shown in the graph.
The survey also shows that Ganjar and Prabowo's electability remains tightly contested in simulations with 10 names, 5 names, and 3 names of candidates.
In the 10-name scenario, Ganjar's electability is 29.6%, Prabowo's 27.1%, and Anies's 15.2%. Then, in the 5-name scenario, Ganjar's electability is 31.8%, Prabowo's 27.8%, and Anies's 15.6%.
Meanwhile, in the 3-name simulation, Ganjar obtained 34% electability, surpassing Prabowo's 31.3% and Anies's 19.2%.
"However, the support for Ganjar and Prabowo cannot be said to be significantly different; they are still in a tight race," said the Litbang Kompas team.
The Litbang Kompas survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews from July 27 to August 7, 2023, involving 1,364 respondents in 38 provinces spread across 331 villages/sub-districts in Indonesia.
The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.65% and a 95% confidence level.
