Kompas Research and Development Quick Count: Ahok in the Lead

A quick count of the Jakarta gubernatorial election by Kompas Research and Development shows that the pair Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Djarot Syaiful Hidayat is leading the other candidates. The pair Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno is in second place, while the pair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni is in third place.

This quick count result is consistent with the conclusions of Kompas Research and Development's latest survey at the beginning of February 2017. In that survey, the electability of the Agus-Sylvi pair was also in last place with 28.2 percent. The difference is that in the quick count, the vote for this number one pair was only 17.37 percent.

The quick count sampled voters from 400 polling stations (TPS) spread across all regions of Jakarta, with a total of 227,453 voters. The method for determining the sample TPS used a systematic random sampling technique based on data from the permanent voter list of Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the electability survey of Jakarta gubernatorial candidates was conducted by Kompas Research and Development from January 28 to February 4, 2017, using face-to-face interviews with approximately 800 respondents. This survey has a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of approximately ±3.5 percent.
