Many Citizens Dissatisfied with the KPK's Performance: Here's Why

According to a survey by Kompas Research and Development, the majority of Indonesian people are dissatisfied with the performance of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Most respondents, or 34.3%, expressed dissatisfaction due to the suboptimal performance of the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas).

The next most frequent reason was the decrease in the number of sting operations (OTT), cited by 26.7% of respondents.

Furthermore, 18.7% of respondents considered there to be too much controversy within the KPK, 11.1% assessed the KPK leadership's image as poor, 5.25% deemed the KPK lacking transparency, 3.3% believed the KPK's performance had declined, and 0.4% considered the KPK no longer independent.

The implementation of the National Insight Test (TWK) for KPK employees also led to dissatisfaction among some respondents, with a percentage of 0.3%.

This data reflects public aspirations for improvements in the KPK's performance, both through firm action against leaders or employees who violate the code of ethics and by increasing the number of sting operations.

The survey also reveals public expectations for more integrity and transparency from KPK leaders and employees.

This survey involved 506 respondents aged 17 and above, spread across all Indonesian provinces.

The survey was conducted from February 22-24, 2021, with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of approximately 4.36%.
