West Sumatra KPU Presidential Election Real Count Update (May 13, 2019, 9:30 WIB): Jokowi Trailing by 1.9 Million Votes

Based on the real count of the 2019 Presidential Election by the General Election Commission (KPU), the incumbent candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin trailed by 1.9 million votes, or 72.37%, in West Sumatra. This is because West Sumatra has been a stronghold for Prabowo Subianto since the 2014 Presidential Election.

Prabowo temporarily garnered 2.29 million votes, or 86.18%, by 09:30 WIB. The votes counted came from 15,369 polling stations (TPS), or 91.92% of the total 16,719 TPS.

Although Jokowi-Ma'ruf lost decisively in West Sumatra, the pair won in the Mentawai Islands and West Pasaman with margins of 58.85% and 27.87%, respectively. In the Mentawai Islands, Jokowi-Ma'ruf received 79.42% of the vote, or 28,000 votes, while Prabowo-Sandi only received 20.58%, or 7,000 votes. In West Pasaman, Jokowi-Ma'ruf won with 63.93% of the vote, or 21,000 votes, while Prabowo-Sandi received 36.07%, or 12,000 votes.
