The General Election Commission (KPU) has declared the pair with registration number 01, Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin, as the winner of the 2019 Presidential Election, securing 55.5% of the vote. His opponent, Prabowo, received only 44.5% of the vote. The 2019 Presidential Election was the fifth for the former mayor of Solo (Surakarta). Interestingly, Jokowi has won all five of his electoral contests.
Initially, Jokowi, paired with F.X. Hadi Rudyatmo, won the 2005 Solo Regional Head Election with 36.62% of the vote, defeating three other candidate pairs. This marked the beginning of his career in politics and government. Then, in 2010, Jokowi won the Solo Regional Head Election again, securing 90% of the vote.
Next, in 2012, the furniture entrepreneur from Solo, paired with Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), won the Jakarta Regional Head Election. Furthermore, Jokowi, partnered with Jusuf Kalla, also won the Presidential Election and served as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2014-2019 period.
