Survey Indicator: Voters of the Berkarya and Demokrat Parties Show the Least Solid Support for Prabowo-Sandi

The latest survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia shows that the voter base of the political parties supporting the Coalition for a Just and Prosperous Indonesia (Koalisi Indonesia Adil Makmur) does not solidly support the candidate pair numbered 02, Prabowo-Sandi. This phenomenon of voters casting ballots for a candidate different from the one nominated by their supported party is called *split-ticket voting*.

The voter bases of the Berkarya Party and the Democratic Party show the least solid support for Prabowo-Sandi. According to the survey, 42.1% of Berkarya Party voters actually supported the candidate pair numbered 01, while 44.8% supported Prabowo-Sandi; the rest did not vote. Meanwhile, 40.5% of Democratic Party supporters crossed over to vote for Jokowi-Ma'ruf, and 54.1% remained with the candidate pair numbered 02; the rest did not vote.

The Indikator survey was conducted from December 16-26, 2018, involving 1,220 respondents spread across 17 major cities in Indonesia. The sampling method used was multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
