Most PDI-P Constituents Support the Capital Relocation

A survey by Media Survei Nasional (Median) shows that among the five political parties supporting Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin, constituents of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) most strongly support the relocation of the nation's capital. 45.3% of respondents from PDIP stated agreement, 39.7% disagreed, and 15% responded "don't know."

The National Democrat Party (Nasdem) showed a close margin, with 40.4% of respondents from that party agreeing with the capital relocation. 40.6% disagreed, and 19% responded "don't know."

Meanwhile, the majority of respondents from the United Development Party (PPP) disagreed with the relocation of the capital, at 35%. 32% of respondents agreed, and 33% responded "don't know." A similar trend occurred among respondents from Golkar. 47.3% of respondents from Golkar disagreed with the capital relocation, 31.6% agreed, while 21.1% responded "don't know."

Respondents from the National Awakening Party (PKB) predominantly answered "don't know" at 49%. 25% of PKB constituents agreed, and 26% disagreed.

The survey, *Public Perception of the Capital Relocation Plan*, was conducted from August 26-30, 2019. 1,000 people participated. The sample was proportionally divided and used multistage random sampling. The margin of error for this survey is 3.09%, with a 95% confidence level.
