Legislative Candidates with the Most Election Violations in Jakarta, 2019

Datatalk Asia reported that 98 election violations occurred in Jakarta in 2019. Legislative candidates were reported to have committed the most violations, with 30 reported cases.

Besides legislative candidates, election officials were also reported to have committed numerous violations in the 2019 Jakarta elections, totaling 27 violations. Following this, political parties committed 18 violations, and presidential candidates committed 6 violations.

Meanwhile, civil servants (ASN), who should adhere to a code of ethics regarding neutrality, were reported to have committed 5 violations. The same number of violations, 5, were committed by voters. Four violations were committed by campaign teams, and 2 by the government. One violation remains unattributed and is recorded in Datatalk Asia.

The highest number of election violations occurred in Central Jakarta, with 36 violations. Following this, North Jakarta recorded 22 violations, East Jakarta 16 violations, and West Jakarta 14 violations. The fewest violations were recorded in South Jakarta, with 10 violations.

The most frequently reported violations were administrative violations (29 cases) and campaign organization violations (27 cases). This was followed by neutrality and code of ethics violations (11 violations), unknown types of violations (11 violations), alleged vote-buying (6 violations), and finally, violations related to the dissemination of campaign materials (4 cases).
