National leaders with honest/non-corrupt character are the most desired and needed by young voters in the 2024 General Election.

This is evident in a survey report by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) titled *Young Voters and the 2024 Election: Post-Pandemic Social and Political Dynamics and Preferences*, released on Monday (26/9/2022).

The survey shows that 34.8% of respondents want a leader with honest/non-corrupt character. Furthermore, 15.9% of respondents want a leader who is down-to-earth and simple.

Another 12.4% of respondents want a decisive/authoritative leader, 11.6% want a figure with a good track record/performance in leadership, and 10.1% want a leader with leadership experience.

Next, 6.7% of respondents want a leader with leadership skills, 4.1% want a religious leader, and 3.6% want an intelligent/smart leader.

0.3% of respondents desired other characteristics, while 0.5% did not know or did not answer.

The CSIS survey was conducted from August 8-13, 2022, involving 1,200 respondents aged 17-39 years spread across 34 Indonesian provinces. Sample collection used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of (+/-) 2.84% and a 95% confidence level.
