Sherly Tjoanda's Wealth Reaches Rp709 Billion, Called the Richest Governor

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 33 governors for the 2024-2029 period at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

One of those inaugurated was the Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda, who is considered the wealthiest governor of this period.

Previously, Sherly was nominated as a gubernatorial candidate for North Maluku after her husband, Benny Laos, died in a speedboat accident on October 12, 2024.

Based on a report submitted on October 16, 2024, Sherly is recorded as having assets worth Rp709.76 billion.

The majority of her assets come from securities valued at Rp245.32 billion. She also owns 7 plots of land and buildings worth Rp201.13 billion spread across Manado, Ambon, and Morotai Island.

Sherly's other sources of wealth include cash and cash equivalents totaling Rp146.17 billion, other assets worth Rp96.96 billion, and other movable assets worth Rp37.57 billion.

The Governor of North Maluku also owns transportation assets worth Rp7.06 billion, consisting of five vehicles: a Land Rover (2019), a Lexus (2023), a Toyota Alphard, a Hummer Jeep (1990), and a Kawasaki motorcycle (1990).
