The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has mapped the vulnerability levels of the 2024 regional elections (Pilkada) across Indonesia's 34 provinces.

The results indicate five provinces are categorized as high-risk, 21 as medium-risk, and eight as low-risk.

Jakarta is the province with the highest vulnerability in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, scoring 88.95%.

Following Jakarta are North Sulawesi (87.48%), North Maluku (84.86%), West Java (77.04%), and East Kalimantan (77.04%).

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya, explained that the vulnerability levels are assessed based on various indicators, including violations of the code of ethics, intimidation, threats, violence, and issues related to ethnicity, race, and intergroup relations (SARA).

"With only seven days left until the election, we will focus on closely monitoring the areas we consider high-risk," said Bima during a working meeting with Commission II of the DPR (House of Representatives) on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

In an effort to anticipate vulnerabilities in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, the Kemendagri is also analyzing areas with potential for conflict and coordinating the focus of security efforts with relevant parties.
