Poltracking Indonesia conducted a survey on the electability of gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate pairs in a simulated 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

The results show that candidate pair number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, achieved the highest electability at 51.6% in early October 2024.

Candidate pair number 3, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, obtained 36.4% of respondent votes. Candidate pair number 2, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, received only 3.9%. 8.1% of respondents remained undecided.

"In terms of electability, there is a potential for the Jakarta gubernatorial election to be decided in one round, although the figure [for Ridwan Kamil-Suswono] is relatively close at 51.6%," said Poltracking Executive Director Hanta Yuda in an online presentation of the survey on Thursday (24/10/2024).

However, Hanta Yuda also noted the possibility of a two-round election, considering that Ridwan Kamil-Suswono's electability is only slightly above the winning threshold.

"Because it's very close to the margin of error requirement (for the gubernatorial election) in Jakarta of 50%+1, the potential for a two-round election remains open," he said.

This Poltracking survey involved 2,000 respondents in Jakarta who met the criteria of having voting rights or being married. The sample was taken using multistage random sampling.

Data collection was conducted from October 10-16, 2024, using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.2% and a 95% confidence level.
