The General Election Commission (KPU) reported that voter participation in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2024) reached 81.78%.

"The total number of valid national votes (Pilpres 2024) amounted to 164,227,475 valid votes," said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asyari at the Commission II DPR Meeting Room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, as reported by *Katadata*, Monday (25/3/2024).

Meanwhile, the pair with number three, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD, received 27,040,878 valid votes.

However, according to Hasyim Asyari, voter participation in the 2024 Presidential Election decreased compared to the 2019 Presidential Election, which reached 81.97%. This 2019 participation was the highest since the presidential election was held in 2004.

In the first presidential election in 2004, voter participation reached 79.76%. This achievement then decreased in 2009 to 74.81%.

Furthermore, voter participation decreased again in 2014 to 69.78%. Then, voter participation only increased in the 2019 Presidential Election.

The voter participation rate in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) for the DPR was 81.42%. The number of valid national votes from the DPR Pileg was 151,796,631.

The KPU also revealed the voter participation rate in the DPD Pileg. The number was 81.36% in the 2024 Pileg.
