Jokowi-Maruf Leads in Eastern Indonesia

The General Election Commission (KPU) declared Jokowi-Maruf the winners of the 2019 Presidential Election in a plenary session. Since the 2014 Presidential Election, a similar voting pattern has been observed in Eastern Indonesia, specifically in Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. Conversely, there has been a shift in Jokowi's vote share in Sulawesi.

Jokowi-Maruf won in the majority of Eastern Indonesian regions. Their strongholds included Bali, NTT, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and West Papua. Meanwhile, the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair won in NTB, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and North Maluku.

A shift in voting patterns for Jokowi compared to the 2014 Presidential Election occurred in South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi, with both regions switching their support to Prabowo. A similar case occurred with Prabowo, who lost his stronghold in Gorontalo.
