Roy Morgan Survey: Jokowi's Electability Leads in Both Rural and Urban Areas

A recent Roy Morgan survey released on Tuesday (April 2nd) shows that presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) enjoys a lead in both rural and urban areas. Support for Jokowi in rural areas even reached 63%, 26% higher than his opponent, Prabowo Subianto, at 37%. The incumbent president's electability in rural areas increased by 2.5%, while Prabowo's decreased by 2.5% from the previous month.

Similarly, in urban areas, Jokowi has an electability rating of 51.5%, while Prabowo has only 48.5%. Compared to the previous month's survey, Jokowi's electability in urban areas decreased by 3%, while Prabowo's increased by 3%. Overall, Jokowi's electability reached 56.5%, a 13% lead over Prabowo, who only achieved 34.5%.

The Roy Morgan survey was conducted in mid-February to March 2019. The survey involved 1,102 respondents aged 17 and older from 17 provinces in Indonesia.
