What is the Net Worth of the 2019 Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates?

The 2019 Presidential Election (Pilpres) will be contested by two pairs of candidates: Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno. Both pairs declared their candidacy for next year's election and were scheduled to register with the General Election Commission (KPU) today, the deadline for registration. Data from the State Officials' Wealth Report shows Jokowi's assets totaled Rp 30.42 billion (2015 report). This comprises Rp 30.01 billion in Indonesian Rupiah and Rp 405 million in US dollars. Meanwhile, his running mate, Amin, has assets of Rp 427.23 million (2011 report). The assets of the Jokowi-Amin pair are significantly less than those of their opponents, whose wealth reaches trillions of Rupiah.

Presidential candidate Prabowo's assets reached Rp 1.77 trillion (2014 report), consisting of Rp 1.67 trillion in Indonesian Rupiah and Rp 101.25 million in US dollars. His running mate, Sandiaga, has assets of approximately Rp 4 trillion, comprising Rp 3.86 trillion in Indonesian Rupiah and Rp 140 billion in US dollars.
