2019-2024 House of Representatives Seat Acquisition: PDI-P Secures the Most

The General Election Commission (KPU) announced the official vote count for political parties in the 2019 legislative election (Pileg) on Saturday (August 31st). The total valid votes for DPR members in the 2019 Pileg amounted to 139,970,810. Nine political parties secured seats in the House of Representatives (Senayan).

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) won the most seats, with 128 seats. This party, symbolized by the white-nosed banteng (gaur), received 27,503,961 votes, or 19.33%.

The Golkar Party came in second with 85 seats and 17,229,789 votes (12.31%). Gerindra secured the third-highest number of votes, winning 78 seats with 17,596,839 votes (12.57%).

Following these were the National Democrat Party (Nasdem) with 59 seats, the National Awakening Party (PKB) with 58 seats, and the Democrat Party with 54 seats. The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) obtained 50 seats, the National Mandate Party (PAN) 44 seats, and the United Development Party (PPP) 19 seats. The parties that failed to secure seats in the House of Representatives were Berkarya, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), the Crescent Star Party (PBB), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI), and Garuda.
