Social media analytics firm Drone Emprit released an analysis of Twitter/X users' sentiment towards the vice-presidential candidates during the fourth 2024 Presidential Election debate held on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
The analysis was conducted during the debate, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM WIB.
Vice-Presidential Candidate number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar, received the highest positive sentiment on Twitter, at 80%. Meanwhile, negative sentiment was only 6%, and neutral sentiment was 14%.
"This shows that Muhaimin Iskandar has very strong support and a positive image on social media during that period," wrote Drone Emprit founder Ismail Fahmi on his personal Twitter account on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Furthermore, Cak Imin, as he is also known, was considered to have led the debate with an ethical and substantive approach to the issues discussed.
Vice-Presidential Candidate number 3, Mahfud MD, received the second-highest positive sentiment, only slightly less than Cak Imin, at 79%. Negative sentiment was 12%, and neutral sentiment was 9%.
"Mahfud MD was considered consistent and solid in his debate performance," wrote Ismail.
Meanwhile, Vice-Presidential Candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, only received 33% positive sentiment. Negative sentiment was higher, at 60%, and neutral sentiment was 7%.
Ismail explained that some social media users considered Gibran to lack decorum and to have used a silly style during the debate.
Gibran also received criticism from Twitter users for violating debate rules by leaving the podium to speak, mocking Mahfud, and bringing up Tom Lembong.
For information, the fourth 2024 Presidential Election debate, which was recently held, focused on the theme of sustainable development, natural resources, the environment, energy, food, agrarian issues, and indigenous and village communities.
The next debate will be held on February 7, 2024. This final 2024 Presidential Election debate will see the three vice-presidential candidates clashing over ideas on the themes of social welfare, culture, education, information technology, health, employment, human resources, and inclusion.
