NTT Residents' Consumption Only One-Third That of Jakarta Residents

Consumption in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is only one-third that of Jakarta. Statistics Indonesia recorded that the average per capita monthly expenditure in NTT is only Rp 665,315, or Rp 22,177 per day. Meanwhile, the average expenditure in Jakarta reaches Rp 2,030,000 per month, or Rp 68,000 per day. NTT has the lowest consumption among all provinces, while Jakarta has the highest.

West Sulawesi has the second-lowest expenditure after NTT, at Rp 734,000 per month, followed by Central Java at Rp 804,000 per month. Meanwhile, the Riau Islands have the second-highest consumption after Jakarta, at Rp 1,600,000 per month, followed by East Kalimantan at Rp 1,440,000 per month.

The national average per capita monthly consumption expenditure is Rp 1,020,000, or approximately Rp 34,000 per day. Only 14 provinces have a per capita monthly expenditure above the national average, while 20 provinces are below it.
