3-Month Nickel Commodity Price Traded at US$18,265/Ton in the Morning (Thursday, April 16, 2026)

Westmetall recorded that today's 3-month forward nickel commodity price fell 0.46% to the level of US$18,265 per ton. This price drop is quite high compared to the average price movement in the last week.

This week, the nickel commodity price saw its highest jump on Monday, April 13, 2026, reaching 2.62%. It has strengthened by 7.98% compared to its position at the start of the year.

The current condition is similar to the movement of the 3-month forward nickel commodity price in the last day, which is in an uptrend.

In the last week, the 3-month forward nickel commodity price rose 7.13% with an average daily transaction price of US$17,710 per ton. According to calculations by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), year-to-date (ytd), the nickel commodity price has increased by 7.98%. So far this year, the highest trading value for nickel commodity was transacted at US$17,350 per ton on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Annually, the average trading price of the 3-month forward nickel commodity has been in a downward trend over the last five years. Meanwhile, for monthly price monitoring, transactions in the last 12 months tend to rise. The highest average monthly nickel commodity price was recorded in January 2026 at US$18,030 per ton.

The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment recorded that in the first half of 2023, the year-on-year export value of nickel and its derivatives reached US$19.47 billion or equivalent to Rp301 trillion. In 2022, the export value of this commodity reached US$34.28 billion or Rp530.1 trillion. The export of nickel and its derivatives is predicted to rise up to 20 times by 2025 due to the Indonesian government's downstreaming program.
