The number of issuers listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange will decrease by 2025.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) reported that there were 956 companies or issuers listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2025.

Throughout that year, there were 26 issuers who conducted initial public offerings (IPOs). The number fell by 36% from the previous year, setting a record low in recent years.

The number of IPOs also fell short of the BEI's target of 66 issuers in 2025, which was later revised to 45 issuers.

Inarno Djajadi, who previously served as the Chief Executive of the Capital Market, Derivative Finance, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), explained that the decline in the number of IPOs last year occurred in line with the OJK's assessment prioritizing quality over quantity.

"The OJK and BEI emphasize that issuers conducting IPOs must have strong fundamentals, good governance, and adequate business sustainability, so that the issuers' credibility is maintained and investors' interests are protected," said Inarno in a statement, as reported by IDX Channel on Sunday (14/12/2025).

In terms of trends, the number of new companies listed on the BEI tends to fluctuate. However, a significant decline began to occur in 2024, as shown in the attached chart.

The BEI also noted that the stock market capitalization in Indonesia reached Rp15,849 trillion in 2025.
