Indonesian Rupiah Weakens to 15,715.5 per US Dollar (Tuesday, November 22, 2022)

As of 1:11 PM WIB today, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at 15,715.5 per US dollar, data as of Tuesday, November 22, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.02% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at 15,710 per US dollar. The daily exchange rate movement is expected to be in the range of 15,710 - 15,727.5.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 1.29% in a week. Compared to 30 days earlier, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened by 1.62%.

However, for the one-year data range, the exchange rate of the rupiah in the spot market has actually strengthened. The previous highest record reached 15,740 per US dollar.

For the period January-November 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has weakened further, moving 10.18% compared to the beginning of the year, which was at 14,264 per US dollar.

The current rupiah exchange rate condition is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This afternoon, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 4.63 points (-0.34%) to KRW 1,355 per US dollar, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.34 points (-0.24%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0013 points (-0.10%), the euro strengthened by 0.0013 points (-0.13%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0194 points (-0.27%).
