PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) recorded positive credit disbursement growth in the January-March period. This performance was supported by the corporate segment and the business recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
BCA reported that credit disbursement reached Rp637.1 trillion in the first quarter. This figure grew 8.6% year-on-year.
"Credit growth occurred across all segments, both for business and consumer credit," wrote the issuer with the code BBCA in a press release issued on Thursday (21/4/2022).
Corporate credit disbursement grew 9.2% to Rp286.8 trillion in the first quarter from the previous year. BCA also booked 8.2% year-on-year growth for commercial and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) credit disbursement.
For consumer credit disbursement, BCA recorded 7.6% growth to Rp154.8 trillion in the first quarter from the previous year. Home ownership credit (KPR) recorded the fastest year-on-year growth, at 9.8%.
Improved credit disbursement contributed to improved financial performance. BCA booked a net profit of Rp8.06 trillion in the first quarter, up 14.5% year-on-year.
