According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the disbursement of banking credit for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationally increased during the third quarter or July-September 2024.
However, during this period, the ratio of non-performing loan/non-performing financing (NPL/NPF) or non-performing loans for MSMEs tended to decrease.
In July 2024, the total value of credit/financing from banks for MSMEs reached Rp1.47 quadrillion, with a non-performing loan ratio of 4.05%.
Then, the disbursement increased to Rp1.5 quadrillion in September 2024, while the non-performing loan ratio decreased to 4.00%.
Nevertheless, the MSME non-performing loan ratio until the end of the third quarter of 2024 was still higher than in 2023, as shown in the graph.
