The Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, has set the 2024 Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK) for the region.

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin stated that the determination of the 2024 UMK in West Java refers to Government Regulation (PP) Number 51 of 2023 concerning Wages.

The calculation of wage increases for each regency/city varies, considering West Java's inflation rate as of September 2023, which is 2.35% (year-on-year/yoy), economic growth in each region, and an alpha coefficient with a value between 0.1-0.3.

This UMK only applies to workers with less than one year of service.

For workers with one year or more of service, wages are based on the company's established wage structure and scale.

"I ask the West Java Provincial Wage Council to monitor the implementation of the wage scale structure. If there are any violations, I can take action against that company," said Bey, as reported by Antara, Thursday (30/11/2023).
