Thai Women Filled the Most Senior Executive Positions in 2020

The Michael Page report titled "Talent Trends 2021" shows that the number of women in senior executive positions in the Asia-Pacific region increased by 3.5% over the past two years. Although slow, this indicates a growing gender diversity in senior leadership.

Thailand had the highest percentage of women filling senior executive roles in the Asia-Pacific region in 2020, at 53%. This was followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan at 45% and 42%, respectively.

In China, Australia, and Vietnam, women filled between 31% and 36% of senior executive positions. Japan and Singapore followed with proportions of 27% and 24%, respectively.

Meanwhile, women filled 23% of senior executive roles in Indonesia and Malaysia. India had the lowest percentage, with only 13% of senior executive positions filled by women last year.
