The average years of schooling for residents of Kudus Regency has increased to 8.75 years.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Central Java Province reported that the average years of schooling in Kudus Regency reached 8.75 years in 2020. This means that the average resident of Kudus Regency aged 25 and over has completed 8.75 years of education, or almost finished the eighth grade.

Throughout 2015-2020, the average years of schooling in Kudus Regency continued to increase. The average years of schooling in 2019 was recorded at 8.63 years, increasing by 0.12 years compared to 2020. The average years of schooling in Kudus Regency is above the average for Central Java Province, which was 7.69 years in 2020.

Meanwhile, the expected years of schooling in Kudus Regency in 2020 was 13.23 years. This means that the average 7-year-old child entering formal education in Kudus Regency in 2020 has the opportunity to attend school for 13.23 years, equivalent to a Diploma I.

The expected years of schooling in 2020 increased by 0.01 years compared to 2019, which was 13.22 years. The expected years of schooling in Kudus Regency is also above the average for Central Java Province, which was 12.7 years in 2020.

Average years of schooling is used to determine the educational level of the population in a region. Meanwhile, expected years of schooling is used to determine the condition of educational system development at various levels.
