Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. Post-COVID growth at the end of 2020 was recorded at only 0.35%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 435,680, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp85,690,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 94th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
In 2023, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Muaro Jambi Regency recorded a value of Rp16.31 trillion, ranking first among the 17 sectors. This represents a 4.5% growth compared to the previous year's Rp14.79 trillion.
The manufacturing industry sector grew by 2.29% to Rp5.05 trillion, while the mining and quarrying sector ranked third with a GRDP of Rp4.33 trillion (5.6% growth).
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP sectors in Muaro Jambi Regency is construction, with a value of Rp2.01 trillion. According to BPS, this sector achieved a 33.56% growth over the previous year's Rp1.45 trillion.
