Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 658 hotspots across Indonesia. This number increased by 215 hotspots compared to the previous period.

This data comes from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Saturday (6/6/2026) at 11.11 WIB. Of the 658 detected hotspots, 21 have high confidence level, 606 medium confidence, and 31 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is divided into 3 tiers: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in the area.

The highest number of hotspots was recorded in West Kalimantan with 121 points, followed by East Nusa Tenggara (51) and East Kalimantan (46).

44 hotspots were detected in Maluku, 41 in Bangka Belitung Islands, while Riau and Jambi each recorded 33 hotspots.

Hotspots are coordinate points with higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; this does not equal the total count of fire incidents.

However, clustered high-volume hotspots indicate active forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for monitoring large-area wildfires.
