Latest South Sumatra Food Prices: Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (9/10/2024) at 08.29 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include wheat flour (bulk), red chilies, granulated sugar, premium rice, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, dry soybean (import), SPHP rice, milkfish, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of red chilies saw the highest increase, jumping Rp2,340 (9.34%) to Rp27,400 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry soybean (import) saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp280 (2.76%) to Rp9,860 per kg.

2. Red Chili Peppers: Rp42,930 per kg (down 0.58%)
3. Garlic Bulbs: Rp39,190 per kg (up 3.27%)
4. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp32,960 per kg (up 2.71%)
5. Mackerel: Rp31,330 per kg (down 2.25%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,970 per kg (up 4.21%)
7. Milkfish: Rp27,440 per kg (down 0.25%)
8. Red Chilies: Rp27,400 per kg (up 9.34%)
9. Shallots: Rp27,340 per kg (up 1.03%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,500 per kg (up 1.22%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,390 per kg (up 0.58%)
