A Katadata Insight Center (KIC) poll shows that journalists are considered the most influential figures in helping young Indonesians understand political issues. This option was chosen by 45.5% of respondents.

Activists were the second most influential figures, chosen by 37.8% of respondents. Academics followed in third place with 37.4%.

Furthermore, 33% of respondents believe that social media influencers can influence young people's awareness of political issues.

Politicians and comedians were each chosen by 23.8% and 23.7% of respondents, respectively. Government officials and artists received the lowest proportions, as shown in the graph.

This survey on figures influencing young people on political issues used a multiple-answer option; respondents could choose more than one answer.

The survey was conducted among 1,005 respondents proportionally distributed across 34 Indonesian provinces. The sample consisted of 60.6% men and 39.4% women. Respondents were Generation Z aged 17-26 years (50.4%) and millennials aged 27-42 years (49.6%).

Data collection was conducted online from October 11-17, 2023, using tSurvey's data collection platform and a non-probability sampling method. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 3.1% at a 95% confidence level.
