Indonesia's Current Food Prices: Egg, Beef, and Sugar Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (9/5/2024) at 16.24 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include chicken eggs, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), milkfish, mackerel, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, garlic bulbs, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of livestock-level corn saw the highest increase of Rp330 (5.71%) to Rp6,110 per kg. The price of red chilies saw the lowest decrease of Rp650 (1.51%) to Rp42,490 per kg.
