Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chicken and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (21/9/2024) at 12.06 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, medium rice, skipjack tuna, dry soybean (import), and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as curly red chilies, fine iodized salt, bulk wheat flour, broiler eggs, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most, by Rp810 (2.0%) to Rp41,280 per kg. Mackerel prices decreased the most sharply, by Rp360 (1.11%) to Rp32,080 per kg.
