North Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down (Thursday, December 21, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in North Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (21/12/2023) at 10:43 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include wheat flour (bulk), milkfish, iodized fine salt, red chilies, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, dry soybean (import), red onions, granulated sugar, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp15,020 (25.69%) to Rp73,480 per kg. Red onion prices decreased the most by Rp910 (2.77%) to Rp31,910 per kg.

7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp35,860 per kg (up 4.3%)
8. Red Onion: Rp31,910 per kg (down 2.77%)
9. Chicken Meat: Rp29,410 per kg (down 2.42%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,810 per kg (down 0.92%)
