Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra Region: Red Chili Prices Rise, Cayenne Pepper Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency''s (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (9/5/2025) at 1:24 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include large red chili, bulk cooking oil, shallots, dried soybeans (imported), and consumption sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as SPHP rice, broiler chicken eggs, packaged cooking oil, red cayenne pepper, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

The large red chili commodity saw the highest jump of Rp647 (1.63%) to Rp40,407 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of skipjack tuna fell the deepest by Rp203 (0.72%) to Rp28,078 per kg.
