Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Onions Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (4/11/2024) at 16.04 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased in price and 14 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price are iodized fine salt, garlic bulbs, dry soybean (import), shallots, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, bulk cooking oil, simple packaged cooking oil, medium rice, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp960 (3.21%) to Rp30,910 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies saw the steepest price drop, down by Rp1,200 (3.41%) to Rp34,010 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in Central Java according to Bapanas on November 4, 2024, at 16.04 WIB.

6. Mackerel: Rp31,250 per kg (down 0.95%)
7. Shallots: Rp30,910 per kg (up 3.21%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,580 per kg (down 0.65%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,040 per kg (up 0.19%)
10. Red Chili (Keriting): Rp21,310 per kg (down 2.78%)
