Bondowoso Residents' Food Consumption Insufficiency Rate Rose 14.49% in 2024

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Bondowoso Regency, East Java, reached 14.49% in 2024.

This figure increased by 1.77% from the previous year's 12.72%, and by 2.51% over the last 5 years.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Bondowoso Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.
