Sugar Prices in West Papua Are the Highest Nationally (Wednesday, April 5, 2023)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 13,110 per kg, as of Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 14,280 per kg.

The daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in West Papua was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 15,050 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of granulated sugar in this province is higher; previously recorded at Rp 12,250 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Aceh's modern markets, granulated sugar was sold at Rp 15,050 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of granulated sugar in Jambi was Rp 14,950 per kg, North Sumatra Rp 14,800 per kg, and Gorontalo Rp 14,800 per kg.

Meanwhile, six provinces had granulated sugar prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest granulated sugar prices were East Kalimantan, Bali, and North Maluku.
