West Sumatra Food Prices Thursday (28/8): Beef Prices Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (28/8/2025) at 12:38 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include broiler chicken meat, mackerel, red bird''s eye chili, broiler eggs, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as Minyakita cooking oil, SPHP rice, packaged wheat flour, shallots, and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Pure beef commodity surged the highest by Rp2,796 (2.0%) to Rp142,700 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of large red chili dropped the most by Rp1,367 (3.51%) to Rp37,556 per kg.

9. Curly Red Chili: Rp37,367 per kg (down 0.46%)
10. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp36,092 per kg (up 1.76%)
