The price of Medium II quality rice in West Sumatra is Rp 17,800 per kg (Monday, August 12, 2024).

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of Rp 15,270 per kg for medium-grade II rice in modern markets across several provinces as of Monday, August 12, 2024. Overall, the average price this week increased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 15,240 per kg.

The daily price of medium-grade II rice in West Sumatra's modern markets was the highest in Indonesia, at Rp 17,800 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of medium-grade II rice in this province is higher; previously it was recorded at Rp 16,700 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Maluku's modern markets, medium-grade II rice was sold at Rp 17,200 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third, fourth, and fifth place were North Kalimantan at Rp 16,850 per kg, West Papua at Rp 16,750 per kg, and Papua at Rp 16,650 per kg for medium-grade II rice.

Meanwhile, 15 provinces had medium-grade II rice prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for medium-grade II rice were West Nusa Tenggara, Yogyakarta Special Region, and Riau Islands.
