Latest East Java Food Prices: Onion Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (7/8/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased in price and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, pure beef, bulk cooking oil, garlic bulbs, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), medium rice, granulated sugar, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Garlic bulb prices surged the highest by Rp1,000 (2.86%) to Rp35,970 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of fine iodized salt decreased the most sharply by Rp550 (5.59%) to Rp9,290 per kg.

6. Broiler Chicken: Rp32,080 per kg (down 1.75%)
7. Milkfish: Rp32,060 per kg (down 0.99%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp29,020 per kg (down 4.0%)
9. Broiler Eggs: Rp26,430 per kg (up 0.42%)
10. Red Onions: Rp19,740 per kg (down 1.5%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp16,430 per kg (down 0.54%)
