Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Red Chili Up, Chicken Down

Some food prices in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency's (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (November 8, 2025) at 13:55 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include curly red chili, shallots, red bird's eye chili, bulk cooking oil, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken meat, Minyakita, consumption sugar, garlic bulbs, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili recorded the highest increase of Rp5,853 (10.83%) to Rp59,898 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of broiler chicken meat experienced the sharpest decline of Rp186 (0.52%) to Rp35,383 per kg.
