Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chili and Sugar Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (12/6/2024) at 09.11 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dried soybean (import), fine iodized salt, mackerel, chicken eggs, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), pure beef, bulk wheat flour, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel experienced the highest price increase of Rp6,760 (21.11%) to Rp38,780 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most, by Rp480 (8.76%) to Rp5,000 per kg.

8. Chicken Eggs: Rp27,890 per kg (up 0.9%)
9. Milkfish: Rp27,540 per kg (up 2.04%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,770 per kg (down 0.82%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,680 per kg (down 1.39%)
