Today's Food Prices (19/3) in Indonesia: Red Chili Peppers Rise, Rice Falls

Several food commodity prices in Indonesia today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (March 19, 2026) at 14:23 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 13 increased and 3 decreased.

Commodities that saw price increases include curly red chili peppers, broiler chicken meat, shallots, bulk palm cooking oil, and large red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as wheat flour, medium rice, and bulk granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chili peppers saw the highest increase of Rp1,465 (3.03%) to Rp49,809 per kg. Medium rice prices had the deepest decrease of Rp7 (0.05%) to Rp13,678 per kg.

6. Shallots: Rp41,137 per kg (up 1.17%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp36,489 per kg (up 0.3%)
8. Broiler Eggs: Rp31,321 per kg (up 0.2%)
9. Packaged Premium Palm Cooking Oil: Rp21,264 per liter (up 0.09%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,906 per liter (up 0.14%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp18,023 per kg (down 0.01%)
12. Minyakita: Rp15,876 per liter (up 0.04%)
13. Premium Rice: Rp15,346 per kg (up 0.01%)
