Grobogan Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp34.76 trillion. This represents a 4.98% increase compared to the previous year's Rp31.81 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a decrease of 1.57%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 1.51 million, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp23,280,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 460th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in Grobogan Regency are the mainstay sectors, contributing the largest share to the 2023 GRDP with a value of Rp9.33 trillion. This represents a 0.17% growth compared to the previous year's Rp8.76 trillion.
The second largest contributing sector is wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, which grew by 5.01% to Rp6.78 trillion. The manufacturing industry contributed Rp5.07 trillion (6.88% growth).
Rounding out the top five is transportation and warehousing with a value of Rp1.9 trillion. According to BPS, this sector achieved 8.49% growth over the previous year's Rp1.62 trillion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the largest growth to Grobogan Regency's GRDP is agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, with a contribution of 24.64%. Other sectors in the top five include wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; the manufacturing industry; transportation and warehousing; and accommodation and food service activities.
Sectors with the smallest distribution include mining and quarrying; health and social services; business services; electricity and gas supply; and water supply, waste management, waste and recycling.
