Food Prices in Indonesia Tuesday (5/8): Red Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) at 09:17 AM WIB, out of 25 commodities, 3 commodities increased and 21 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include large red chilies, curly red chilies, and red cayenne peppers.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as red onions, pure beef, bulk cooking oil, skipjack tuna, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili commodity jumped the highest by Rp291 (0.65%) to Rp45,248 per kg. Red onion prices fell the sharpest by Rp4,019 (7.51%) to Rp49,518 per kg.
