Food Prices Today, January 07, in West Sumatra: Bird's Eye Chili Up, Red Chili Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (Jan 7, 2026) at 3:51 PM WIB, out of 16 commodities, 2 commodities increased and 3 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices are red bird's eye chili and Honan garlic.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as curly red chili, broiler chicken eggs, and large red chili decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili commodity surged the highest by Rp2,056 (2.55%) to Rp82,556 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of large red chili dropped the sharpest by Rp10,000 (16.67%) to Rp50,000 per kg.
