Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Rice Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (14/8/2024) at 13.43 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 4 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), garlic bulbs, skipjack tuna, and medium-grade rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, red chilies, chicken eggs, red cayenne peppers, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) saw the highest price increase of Rp160 (1.26%) to Rp12,880 per kg. Meanwhile, red cayenne pepper experienced the steepest price drop of Rp2,300 (3.66%) to Rp60,620 per kg.
