Food Prices in West Sumatra Today: Red Chili Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (3/9/2025) at 12:11 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include bulk wheat flour, broiler eggs, broiler chicken meat, large red chilies, and SPHP rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged cooking oil, medium rice, dry soybeans (imported), red onions, and mackerel fish decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Large red chilies saw the highest increase of Rp10,167 (20.4%) to Rp60,000 per kg. Tuna fish prices saw the deepest decrease of Rp1,614 (3.93%) to Rp39,423 per kg.
